The Benicia Historical Museum (formerly the Camel Barn Museum) complex is on the National Register of Historic Places. These four sandstone buildings were quarried on this site and were the first buildings of the Benicia Arsenal. The Museum building exhibits reflect the history of the City of Benicia, the former Benicia Arsenal, Solano County and the influence Benicia had in the development of the State of California. Exhibits include the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Korean War, a Yuba Mfg. Exhibit with a working scale model of a gold dredge, and the Capt. Charles P. Stone’s journal from the 1850’s and 60’s.
