The Adirondack History Center Museum displays artifacts from over two centuries of life in Essex County and the central Adirondacks.

Ten major exhibit areas spread over three floors of a 1915 school building introduce visitors to: pioneer settlement, wilderness exploration and recreation, and transportation.

A rotating schedule of special exhibits examines historic topics not extensively treated in the permanent collection. Lectures and programs on the region and history take place throughout the season.

The Museum is open 10am – 5pm, 7 days a week from late May through mid-October. The Brewster Library is open all year by appointment only.
